An early mouthguard was developed in 1890 by Woolf Krauze, a London dentist to protect boxers from lip cuts and lacerations. The modern mouthguard design started from the work in the 1970s done by Dr. A. W. S. Wood, a Canadian pediatric dentist who was aiming to reduce and prevent harm injuries to children's teeth in hockey games.
Mouthguards are used in sports where deliberate or accidental impacts to the face and jaw may cause harm. Such impacts may occur in many sports including but not exclusive to: baseball, boxing, martial arts, rugby, wrestling, soccer, American football, Australian football, lacrosse,
basketball, figure skating, hockey, underwater hockey, water polo, skiing and snowboarding.
Timeless Smiles offers sport mouth guards, with and without mask straps. All of our sports guards are made of 100% FDA approved material. If you need extra reinforcement in the anterior teeth we can do that too.
For certain sports you may want to reinforce your anterior teeth so you have 6mm of protection
right where you need it the most.
All of our sports guards are custom made so they will not fall out of the mouth if you need to talk
or take a drink. They are comfortable and very durable.
